As if the floor of a movie theatre wasn't sticky enough already. This is 'Crappy News' for Thursday, November 16th, 2017.
Astana, Kazakhstan- A group of tourists were arrested for dressing up in the memorable "Borat" swimsuit.
The mockumentary film Borat was released waaaaay back in 2006, so the joke is a little stale by now.
That did not prevent six Czech tourists from making the trek to Kazakhstan's capital city and getting their pictures taken in front of a sign that says "I Love Astana"... while wearing the mankini made famous by Sacha Baron Cohen's title character.
Local authorities were not impressed. All six men were cited for "minor hooliganism" and issued a massive fine...of $68 apiece. [Chicago Sun-Times]
So...like it or not...the Kazakhs kind of just proved the point of the movie.
Eagle, CO- A man's politeness sent him back to jail.
43-year-old Juan Bibriesca was in court last week on a drug charge. When the judge entered the courtroom Bibriesca showed respect by taking off his hat. However, when he did, a bindle of cocaine fell out and landed on the floor.
Officers reviewed video from the courtroom and confirmed that the drugs belonged to Bibriesca.
Now he's facing additional charges for possessing narcotics and violating his bond. Bibriesca was born in Mexico and is reportedly in the country illegally, so he could face deportation. [Vail Daily]
Not exactly a banner day for him.
San Antonio, TX- A couple went to jail because of cinema sex.
39-year-old Melissa Feist & 40-year-old Adam Lee were arrested last Thursday night after an assistant manager spotted the lovebirds getting a bit too cozy inside one of the screening rooms. The manager called police after finding Feist straddling Lee on the floor.
Police said the lovers were taken by surprise and "stood there for a long time" before putting their clothes back on. Lee admitted to officers that the couple was indeed having sex in the theatre. Each was charged with public lewdness. [MySanAntonio.com]
