There's a long-awaited update to this story that I'm sure you've heard about already. It's about time.

The guy who proposed to his girlfriend at someone else's wedding and had everybody pretending they know all about manners and such?

Well, my editorial comment on Q's Facebook page yesterday was remarkably accurate:

I don't care what people say about this guy. This guy's a keeper. He'll do anything for his woman. http://ow.ly/Nzhtj

It turns out not only did this guy who the rest of the world has been calling a "douchebag" have permission from the bride, but it was something everyone except the proposee knew about beforehand.

She's been identified as Megan, and her and the family are from Iowa (if you recognize these people tell us!) and she said her fiancé told her older sister he was planning to propose on the beach, but the bride suggested he pop the question during her wedding reception. "My fiancé told her he didn’t want to ruin their day and she insisted it would only make it better! The groom of the wedding actually held my engagement ring the entire trip!”

Megan said that her sister’s awkward smile wasn't in fact awkward or an attempt to conceal and homicidal thoughts.

“She’s actually trying not to cry because it was such a happy moment for all of us,” she said.

There you go, Manners Patrol. Find some other conclusions to jump to.
