Missing cookies, slapped children and stolen undies...sound like a busy weekend! Here are today's top stories:
Floyd County, KY- A Girl Scout troop leader for stealing more than $15,000 worth of cookies!
26-year-old Leah Ann Vick allegedly picked up the cookies from a distributor to be sold but didn't pay for them. And the Girl Scout chapter never received them, either.
Police say Vick has been unable to be reached by phone and her whereabouts are unknown. Authorities say "It looks like she picked up the cookies and, now, she and the cookies have disappeared." [Herald-Leader]
She's depriving all these people of their THIN MINTS. She deserves a fate worse than death. I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles...
Bangor, ME- The owner of a semi-nude maid service was arrested last week...but not for the reason you may think.
The woman who owns the topless cleaning company--cleverly named Topless Cleaning--was caught shoplifting underwear from a local business.
The cops picked up on the irony of the whole situation, posting on their Facebook page that the woman had "stolen garments that would fully cover, support, and contain much of what her business promised her customers." [Lowell Sun]
It would've made WAY more sense if she'd stolen panties instead.
Spartanburg, SC- A mom got arrested because of a Mother's Day card...or lack thereof.
30-year-old Shontrell Murphy allegedly slapped her son multiple times across the head Thursday because he'd made a Mother's Day card for his grandmother, but not for her.
Officers found a handwritten card torn to pieces inside the home. Murphy's children also told police that their mother gets violent with them and that they're afraid of her (can't imagine why). She's been charged with child cruelty. [WBRC-TV]
She does realize that Mother's Day falls on a Sunday, right? Could've deferred that rage for at least a few more days...
