Nobody voted for Riceville school board candidate Randy Richardson last week--not even Randy Richardson. Come on! In sixth grade, even I voted for myself as class president. No one else did, but that's one vote for me!

Randy was too busy farming and working at a bean processing plant to cast a vote for himself, as were all but 36 of the town’s 500 residents.

I don't know if I could handle the hustle and bustle of Riceville, but I could literally own the town just by finding the time to vote for myself.

I could easily become Grand Emperor of Riceville. Every day is Q92.3 Day! It'd be against the law to not listen to Q92.3! A Chick-Fil-A on every corner. This should happen.

“It’s hard to get the general public to remember when to vote for president“ during peak farming season, School Board President Karl Fox said, noting the awful timing of last week’s vote.

Randy, a father of two who was cajoled into running despite being “run paper thin the way it is,“ will probably still be appointed to the seat he ran unopposed for and tied for first (and last) in the election.

Riceville is about 35 miles north of New Hampton, if you're feeling ambitious and would like to experiment in world domination on a smaller scale. Just set a reminder to vote on your phone!
