Did he think he was one of them?? This is "Crappy News" for Wednesday, November 7th, 2018.

Flint, MI- A man faked his own kidnapping...so his parents would give him drug money.

A woman called police saying she hadn't seen or talked to her son in six days. Within that time, she told police someone called asking for $1,000 to free him and his vehicle. The alleged kidnappers also called the son's father asking for $500.

The woman told officers that she wrote a checked and dropped it off at a store. Security cameras showed her son, 40-year-old Jason Hiller, picking up the check and driving away in his own car.

Hiller, along with 20-year-old Michael Forester, allegedly asked for another $150. They set up a meeting time and sheriff's deputies were there to arrest them.

Hiller & Forester were both charged with false pretenses. [WJRT-TV]

That's gonna make the family reunion pretty interesting.

Hudson, FL- We've got another solid contender for "Mom of the Year."

Police say 24-year-old Nicole Buffington left her two small children inside of a hot car for about 30 minutes on Tuesday while she went shopping.

Cops saw a seven-year-old boy and a one-year-old girl inside the vehicle...along with a bag of crystal meth on the front driver's seat.

Officers identified Buffington inside the store and she was arrested for child neglect and narcotics possession. [The Smoking Gun]

It doesn't get much more "Florida" than that...or does it?

St. Augustine, FL- A man had a close encounter with a crocodile.

Brandon Hatfield broke into a zoo park Monday night and jumped into an exhibit that housed Nile crocodiles.

Surveillance cameras captured video of Hatfield jumping into the pit from a 20-foot roof. Video also shows one of the crocodiles latching on to his left foot.

Hatfield eventually got away and was spotted in a neighbor's yard, bleeding and wearing only his boxer shorts. The next morning, park officials found a pair of shorts...and a pair of Crocs shoes...floating in a pond.

Hatfield was taken a the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to his foot and leg. Once released, he'll be arrested on charges burglary, criminal mischief, and a probation violation. [FOX 30 - Jacksonville]

I can't believe I need to say this, but...just because you wear Crocs doesn't mean you're an actual crocodile.
