Detroit, MI- A stadium concession worker has been fired for spitting in food.
An Instagram post showed the employee spitting on pizza crust before covering it with sauce--and presumably serving it to a customer--during last Friday's Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park.
The employee was identified, arrested, and suspended from his job. The concession company also shut down the stand for the remainder of the game. [NBC Sports]

I need to brush up on my Bible study...but I'm pretty sure there's a commandment about that somewhere.
Port St. Lucie, FL- A teacher was fired after giving kids zeroes...for work they didn't turn in.
52-year-old Diane Tirado, and she's been a teacher for 17 years, and she started working as an eighth grade social studies teacher this school year.
At the beginning of the year, she gave her students two weeks to complete a take-home project, but some of them didn't turn anything in...so Tirado gave them zeroes. And she says she lost her job because of it.
It turns out the school has a policy that says the lowest grade a teacher can give a student is 50%. Tirado was baffled. "If there's nothing to grade, how can I give somebody a 50%?"
The school stood by the decision to fire Mrs. Tirado, and claimed that it was about more than just grading, saying "her performance was deemed substandard and her interactions...lacked professionalism and created a toxic culture." [Newsweek]
